My Vision

Revitalize Downtown

Our downtown is a special part of San Juan Bautista. I want to help create a vibrant business community while protecting the character and history that make our city unique.


I would like to see stronger communication between local businesses, property owners, residents, and community organizations.

Some ideas include:

  • Bringing the city, property owners, and businesses together to encourage new investment.

  • Holding regular meetings with community and business leaders.

  • Creating additional training opportunities related to our Historic District.

  • Reviewing how special events are organized and looking for ways to improve them.

  • Holding town hall meetings.

  • Sharing easy-to-understand recaps of City Council meetings through social media.

  • Exploring ways to improve representation and communication throughout the community.

Make City Government easier to Navigate

Whether you're opening a business, improving your home, or simply trying to get something done with the city, the process should be as clear and straightforward as possible.


I would support reviewing our permitting process to identify unnecessary delays and duplication.

Some ideas include:

  • Supporting local service club cleanup days.

  • Encouraging community service projects.

  • Partnering with local organizations on projects that improve our neighborhoods.

  • Coordinating City-supported service days.

  • Working with County partners to expand e-waste and debris collection opportunities.

One of San Juan Bautista's greatest strengths is the people who care enough to volunteer their time.


I want to encourage more opportunities for residents, service clubs, businesses, and community organizations to work together.

Some ideas include:

  • Expanding online permitting.

  • Making applications and supporting documents easier to find.

  • Reviewing the current process for unnecessary steps and delays.

  • Evaluating ways to make applications easier for residents and businesses to complete.

  • Exploring appropriate fee structures that could encourage new businesses while maintaining responsible City finances.
